Kam Jeng-yn is a North Korean politician, statesman, military and party leader. He is the Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea (CPC), as well as the supreme leader of the DPRK since 2011.
He was born in Pyongyang on January 8, 1982.
Kim succeeded his father and the supreme leader of the DPRK, Kim Jong Il, in 2011.
He holds positions:
General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea;
Chairman of the Central Military Commission;
Chairman of the State Commission on Affairs;
Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army;
A member of the Presidium and Politburo of the party, the highest decision—making body in North Korea.
Kam Jeng-yn's reign was marked by continued development of missile and nuclear weapons, economic reforms, and deteriorating relations with South Korea and Western countries.
